I grew up in the South Cascades. My stomping ground was Mount Rainier, Goat Rocks and White Pass. This is where I learned to hike, climb and ski. And, when I took up kayaking, the Ohanepocosh, Upper Upper Cispus and Carbon Rivers were several of my favorite adventures. All waters that flow off of the same mountains that I love. Mountains that I often find myself in thinking, "I've been here before, I'd swear it." And maybe I had. When younger I'd gone many places that now I only have vague recollections of, every weekend spent in one place or another. Nevertheless, there are still great swathes of Southern Washington that I have yet to see, plus I'm under the belief that "reminders never hurt."
